One of the finest examples of the Shingle Style on the North Shore is St. Mary’s Church c.1887. Both the church and the Governor’s Landing residence were designed by the same individual as can be seen in the similarities in the shape of the left side of these first two structures as well as the window patterns. In the prominent stonework base of the church there are hints of castle elements and even a flying buttress.
