The Craftsman style was decorative and functional: the exposed braces took many shapes; bay windows extruded in varied forms; lattice-work was intricate around front doors or porches, and there were different shaped shingles. Windows were double hung with the top half having multiple panes, and the bottom half a single pane. Porches became an outdoor sitting area.
