Emulating as a subset of the Prairie Style (1900-1920), the American Four Square is the form that most often appears here in the Northeast. This was an American born style during the times of Frank Lloyd Wright which exhibited a hipped and prominently overhanging roof line of a two story dwelling. The open porch with a central front door, an attic level eyelash window and generally symmetrical window patterns are traditional patterns.
